This was a nice e-mail to receive recently from Ellen & Jeremy in Canada... I thought you might like an update on how your oldest kittens - and only Canadians - are doing. They are both thriving in their new home, continuing to be indoor cats which keeps them safe from coyotes, raccoons and bears as well as cars. They arrived unscathed from the nine hour flight - with an admiring semi-circle of passengers looking at them in their large cage by the time I was able to collect them.

We has a health scare with Eika last year - he developed inflammatory bowel disease in reaction to food allergies and was seriously ill for a while. However he is now fully recovered and making do with a diet which excludes fish, fish oils, eggs and beef. So poor Willow has also had to give up her beloved tuna but she loves to crunch up dry food. Eika is the more mischievous and sociable - he loves being admired when we have guests - while Willow reserves her affection for those she knows well. They both prefer to be in the same room we're in, and both curl up on the bed with us at night. Eika likes to wake me up with a hair wash, and reach out to grab my hand with his paw so that he can lick my fingers till I stop focusing on getting dressed and feed him instead. Willow loves chasing small balls and moving lights while Eika's toys of choice are catnip mice that can be thrown for him to catch with massive leaps from the bed. He is very talkative and will complain loudly at any door which is closed, while both he and Willow have delightful and ready purrs. Both of them often like to sleep in shoe boxes and to climb anything they can.
