Red was named by a friend of mine who previously had a German Shepherd Dog with russety tones in his coat – he was called ‘Blue’ – hence our little girl was called ‘Red’…

When I decided to keep Red I thought she was a blue classic tabby as she had very defined markings as a baby – she now has a beautiful slatey blue coat. Typically of some blues it is still quite soft, but her coat quality is starting to come through now – and her tail feathers and ruff are finally starting to appear. She has a beautiful profile - as is shown in the photos below, taken in July 2006.
Red is very loving and will leap onto the nearest available lap of any visitor, turn around once, and instantly fall asleep, reverberating with loud purrs the whole time.
Her best friend is Queeni, they are similar in age and were brought up together – they love to be out in the cat garden - particularly when the sun is out. The second love of Red's life is Gradi, our Birman neuter – they are never far apart and we often spot a tangle of black, blue and cream collapsed on the rug by by the Aga!
We are about to start showing Red again - she has one CC so far, having taken a break to rear a lovely kitter of 6 kittens in November 2006.
